Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. Parents are Manny James and Patty James. His mother is caucasian while his father is Nigerian. He graduated in 2010 from Sanderson High School and furthered to Wake Forest University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Economics in the year 2015. James gained fame when he became a reality television star in The Bachelorette. He was selected in 2020 to become the season's 25th bachelor on The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The series premiered in 2021. James seemed to be the perfect match for the role as his attractive, well-rounded, large-bodied personality. Rachael Krakconnell, whom was his girlfriend to date throughout the season. In 2021 he partnered with the famous dancer Arnold to take part in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James along with Arnold placed 12th on the show.
